TRAVERSE CITY — Robert "Bob" Lyle Carolus, 72, passed away on Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, in Traverse City. He was born Aug. 31, 1940, to Robert Sr. and Marietta Carolus.
He grew up in East Lansing, graduating from ELHS (Class of 1958).
Bob served his country in the Marine Corps from 1958 through 1964 and then attended Michigan State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Bob married his high school sweetheart, Ann Adams, in 1966 and began his career in finance at Control Data. He later joined TBA Credit Union until his retirement.
Bob is best remembered by his family and friends for the passion he had for the outdoors. He enjoyed sharing his love for fly fishing and bird hunting with his sons and closest friends.
He is survived by his two sons, Andrew (Andrea) Carolus and Matthew Carolus; his granddaughter, Alison Carolus; his grandson, Daniel Carolus; his sister, Mary Elizabeth (Liz) Carolus Terry; his brother, Donald Carolus; and his beloved bird dogs, Annie and Sugar.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Adams Carolus; and his sister, Carol Carolus Hager.
