GRAND RAPIDS — Mary J. Hirt, aged 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012.
She was a devoted wife and a loving, caring and supportive mother who was concerned for her family until the very end.
Jane is survived by her children, Mary Jo (Mike) Brew, Glenn C. (Shari) Hirt, Jane Ann (Bob) Samuels, Nancy Anne Hirt, Karen Louise (Ernie) Kladder and Barbara Lynn Stob. Also surviving are her 13 grandchildren, six-and-a-half great-grandchildren; her sister, Martha Woodcox; and her sister-in-law, Jean Hirt.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Glenn F. Hirt; and parents, Louis Lake and Josephine Walkowiak.
Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at 11 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elk Rapids, with the Rev. Robert Zuchowski presiding. The family will greet visitors from 10 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m.
