SOUTH BOARDMAN — Robert D. Horton, of South Boardman, started his amazing journey to be with the Lord on Nov. 16, 2012, at the age of 66, at home with his family by his side.
Robert was born July 19, 1946, in Marine City. He married Janice (Neihardt) on Dec. 7 1974.
He worked most of his life in the oil fields and later as a heavy diesel mechanic.
Robert had four daughters, Dustie McConnell, of Marine City, Heidi Hagan, of East Lansing, Amber (Adam) Winn, of South Boardman, and Holly (Robert) Myhre, of Lansing; seven grandchildren, Chadwick and Hanna McConnell, Adriana and Zander Winn, and Elisabeth, Dominic and Zachery Myhre; Robert's dear brother-in-law, Terry Neihardt, and our adopted family, Kari (Robert) Fender, of South Boardman, and son, Tyler, and Patrick Strouse. Robert is survived by three brothers and three sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Caleb III; two sisters; and two brothers.
Memorial services will be held at East Boardman United Methodist Church on Nov. 24, 2012, at 1 p.m., with a luncheon following at the Kalkaska Moose Lodge.
Robert had asked that all memorial donations be made to the East Boardman United Methodist Church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
