BELLAIRE — Luella M. Watrous left this world on Wednesday, Sept. 26, after a long and fruitful life. She was born in Central Lake on May 1, 1922, to Jerry and Hazel Thomas. Luella was a lifelong resident of Bellaire.
On June 20, 1941, she married Jacob Watrous. After retirement they spent many terrific winters in Arizona, where they enjoyed mountain climbing, crafting and hiking.
Luella enjoyed gardening, needlepoint, painting and family. She dearly loved her dog, Benny. She will be greatly missed.
Luella is survived by four of her children, Judy Miller, of Bellaire, Jacob (Toni) Watrous, of Santa Rosa, Texas, Larry Watrous, of Apache Junction, Ariz., and Janice (Charles) Tipton, of Bellaire; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding Luella in death were her parents; all of her siblings; two sons, Dale Arthur and Gary Lee; and her loving husband, Jake.
No funeral services are planned. A private graveside service will be held, per her wishes.
