TRAVERSE CITY — Fred W. Cook, 88, of Traverse City, died Friday, July 13, 2012, at Bortz Health Care in Traverse City. Fred was surrounded by his loving family, wife, Rosalie; sons, David (Denise), James (Helen) and Frederick (Jill); and daughters, Barbara and Teresa (Allen).
Fred is also survived by 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Fred was a member of the 421st U.S. Army Band and played the trombone.
Fred enjoyed all sports, especially golf.
Fred was an electrician by trade.
A graveside military service will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at 11 a.m., at Memorial Gardens on Veterans Drive, followed by a luncheon at the VFW Post 2780 on Veterans Drive.
Fred's family would like to thank the staff at Bortz Health Center for the wonderful care he received while there.
