GAYLORD — Dale Alan Beutler, 62, passed away on Nov. 14, 2012, at home after a courageous fight with cancer. Dale was born on April 12, 1950, to Ernest and Betty Ann Beutler, who survive.
He is also survived by his wife, Susan (Horn), his high school sweetheart, whom he married 42 years ago. They have two children, Daniel (Alline) Beutler and Aimee (Doug) Brewer, who survive; as well as his grandchildren, Claire and Eliza Beutler, who will miss their Papa Dale very much. Dale is also survived by his siblings, Terry and Larry Beutler, Kay (Dave) Lurie and Jane (Terry) Boursaw; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Beutler.
Dale loved sports especially football, basketball, golf and baseball. He was an avid fan of the MSU Spartans and the Detroit Tigers. Two of his favorite places were the golf course and the family cottage in the Upper Peninsula. Dale always enjoyed hearing his granddaughters sing with the NMC Children's Choir.
Visitation will be held at Nelson Funeral Home in Gaylord Sunday, Nov. 18, from 4 to 8 p.m., and on Monday, Nov. 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a memorial service following at 1 p.m. The Rev. Dale Ostema from Central United Methodist Church in Traverse City will preside.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Northwestern Michigan College Children's Choir of Traverse City through the Nelson Funeral Home, PO Box 1548, Gaylord, MI 49734.
