Restituta A. 'Cristina' Tapaoan

WILLIAMSBURG — Restituta Ancheta Tapaoan, 90, known to many as “Cristina”, of Williamsburg and formerly of Waialua, Oahu, Hawaii, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2012, at home with her loving family at her side.

Restituta was born on April 26, 1922, in Jones, Isabela, the Philippines. She was married to Tomas Lazaro Tapaoan.

Cristina made her home in Waialua, Hawaii, where her caring nature and meticulous attention to detail were appreciated by many. She cared for many as she opened her heart and her home to those in need.

Her talents and green thumb were showcased in the beautiful, award winning gardens and landscape found around the home.

Cristina was a faithful member of Waialua United Church of Christ and various charitable clubs and organizations. She will be remembered for her compassion and helping hand.

Cristina leaves to cherish her memory her caring family; her daughter, Amy Joy (Michael G.) Parker, of Williamsburg; three grandsons, Gino Kawika “Ka-vee-ka” (Maria) Estores Jr. and their children, Destiny and Kaidyn; grandson, Joseph Tomas Jandoc; and step grandson, Dennis Michael Parker.

Cristina was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

A visitation and wake for friends and family will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2012, at Mililani Mortuary, Mauka Chapel on Oahu, Hawaii; (808) 677-5631 #1. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at the Waialua United Church of Christ, with visitation starting at 9 a.m. The funeral procession to Mililani Mortuary will take place at noon. Graveside committal services and burial will be held at Mililani Memorial Park.
