INTERLOCHEN — James S. Towsley, 91, of Interlochen, passed away peacefully at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
James was born July 21, 1921, to George J. Towsley and Bridget (Boyle) Towsley in Watertown, N.Y.
For most of his life he worked in journalism and advertising and was a loving father to his daughter, Susan.
James is survived by his brother, George (Mary Alice) Towsley, of Watertown, N.Y.; and daughter, Susan (Robert) Trekles, of Interlochen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert J. Towsley, of Williamsville, N.Y.
James generously gave his body to the University of Michigan Medical School.
His final resting place will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Traverse City.
