THOMPSONVILLE — Adeline Marie Bower, 89, of Thompsonville, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at her home. She was born July 24, 1923, in Flint, the daughter of LeRoy and Hazel (Keillor) Reed.
Adeline worked as a seamstress for Mitchell Bentley for 22 years. When she was younger, she enjoyed crocheting and beading. Most of all, Adeline loved to spend time with her family.
Adeline is survived by: her children, Margie Malkowski of Thompsonville, Marie (Robert Weaver) Bower of Texas, and Edna (Thomas) Pinkowski of Jackson; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; two sisters, Sandra Houghton of Thompsonville and Juna Richardson of Oxford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
On January 6, 1943, in Alameda, Calif., Adeline married Floyd Leroy Bower, who preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 2002. She was also preceded in death by: her parents; two children, Floyd Bower Jr. and Sara McCleary; two granddaughters, Jackie Bower and Sally-Jo McCleary; and her siblings, Donna Bell Stalker, Gloria Kracht, David Reed, Orlen Reed, and Rodney Reed.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at The Terwilliger Funeral Home, in Kaleva, with the Reverend Gene Houghton officiating.
