TRAVERSE CITY — Adam Christopher Tyler, 27, of Traverse City and Grand Rapids, passed away unexpectedly Jan. 1, 2013. Adam was born on July 24, 1985, in Redford Township.

He graduated from Traverse City Central High School in 2003. Adam earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Western Michigan University in 2011.

In his spare time Adam loved taking photos, shooting guns, playing golf and video games. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

Adam is survived by his dad, Robert (Debbie) Tyler, of Traverse City; mom, Victoria Tyler, of Traverse City; brother, Joshua, of Grand Rapids; stepbrother, Eric Breece, of Indianapolis; stepsister, Katie (Robert) Layman, of Canton; paternal grandparents, Robert and Clara "Sue" Tyler; and maternal grandma, Janet MacAdam.

Adam was preceded in death by his grandfather, Morris "Mac" MacAdam.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at noon, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m., at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be directed to the Cherryland Humane Society or to the American Heart Association.
