FRANKFORT — Robert Otto Mielke, 85, of Frankfort, died June 12, 2012, at his home. He was born in Detroit on May 24, 1927, the son of William and Alvina Mielke.
Robert proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
On Dec. 10, 1949, Robert married Elizabeth M. Kranich, who survives.
He served on the City of Pontiac Fire Department from 1957 to 1983, retiring with the rank of captain.
He is also survived by children, Cheryl (Antonio) Covarrubias, Karen (Arthur) Kohn, Lynn (George) Asker and Robert (Kim Kee) Mielke; grandchildren, Tara Miller, Sara Sherman and Antonio Covarrubias Jr.; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Lewiston, with Pastor Michael G. Belinsky Sr. officiating. A visitation will be begin at 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Albert Twp. Cemetery in Lewiston.
