ELK RAPIDS — Carroll Lyn Atkinson Cato, born Sept. 7, 1944, beloved daughter of Edward and Barbara Atkinson, of Elk Rapids, passed away to our Lord on Jan. 14, 2012, at her home in Elk Rapids.
She is survived by her daughter, Vala, and twin grandchildren, Brent and Kara Shipman, of Kewadin; her sister, Lisa Stevenson; nephew, Jeremy; and nieces, Carly and Danielle, of Norman, Okla.
Carroll was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Cato, of Alden; and her brother, Edward "Eddie" Atkinson, of Orlando, Fla., who is survived by his daughter, Eve Short.
A celebration of life is to be held at the Kewadin Indian Methodist Church in Kewadin on Jan. 28, 2012, at 1 p.m. A fellowship pot luck will follow the service; you may bring a dish to pass, only if you wish.
