TRAVERSE CITY — Della Gayle Jones, 98, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Bortz Health Care in Traverse City.
Della was born on Dec. 15, 1914, in Wallingford, Conn., to the late John F. and Lalia E. (Enos) Phillips. She married Rodger T. Jones in 1945.
Della was a member at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Interlochen. She was active in the Interlochen Senior Center.
Della enjoyed traveling and feeding animals. She will mostly be remembered for her wonderful pies.
Surviving Della are her daughter, Barbara (Harold "Skip") Lassen; grandchildren, Catherine Lassen, Scott (Veronica) Lassen, David Lassen and Dawn (Tom) Hass; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepbrother, Owen Jones.
