ACME — Audrey Hankard, of Acme, passed away on Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. She was born on June 2, 1946, in Detroit, the daughter of the late Edward and Frances Wieczorek.

Audrey's life was defined by an absolute faith in God, unconditional love for her family and the ability to see God's image in everyone she met. Her countless little acts of kindness brightened many of our days. Audrey's greatest source of joy was in bringing happiness to others, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Audrey is survived by her husband, Tom; her sister, Nancy (Larry) Gayeski; her brother, Jerry Wieczorek; sons, William, Michael (Kim) and Richard (Elisabeth) North; stepdaughters, Amy (James) Moran and Arlene (Michael) Riha; and nine grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Audrey was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Wieczorek; and a beloved aunt, Florence Marcelt.

Visitation will be at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Elk Rapids on Sunday, Feb. 5, from 6 to 7 p.m., immediately followed by a Vigil Service. A Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 6, at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Robert J. Zuchowski presiding. Graveside committal services will take place at Mt.Olivet Cemetery in Detroit in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Father Fred Foundation in Audrey's name.
