Another View: Frank does Mass. a service

Barney Frank, the

Newton, Mass.,

Democrat ... will

not seek re-election in

2012. ...

Frank’s 30-year tenure

in the House has been

an embarrassment for

Massachusetts and an

economic disaster for the

nation.

Frank’s coming out as

the first openly gay congressman

was fine ... But

Frank let his personal

life become an embarrassment

that would have

driven most others from

office. ...

Through the 1990s,

Frank had a relationship

with Herb Moses, an

executive at Fannie Mae

... yet Frank’s Financial

Services Committee had

oversight over Fannie

Mae. ...

... The state and the

nation will be better off

without (him).
