TRAVERSE CITY — The big news, though, was 'Big Kahuna’ capturing the 333 Series, a side tournament held at all fishing events on Lake Michigan where teams combine the weight of three fish caught over two days. Traverse City’s Scotty Alpers found his way into the record book while winning for 'Big Kahuna.’

Gwizdz: Big walleye scarce on Houghton Lake
It didn’t take long before I had a bite and reeled in a walleye. It was too small to keep, slightly longer than 14 inches, but it set a trend. Over the next hour we caught five more walleyes and only the sixth exceeded the 15-inch mark.
