TRENTON — An overtime loss the night before didn't linger too long for Traverse City West.
The Titans bounced back on Saturday with a 4-2 win over Wyandotte in the MIHL Prep Hockey Showcase.
With the game tied at 2-2 after two periods, TC West (8-11-1) got a pair of goals from Alex Grizzel in the third to win it and complete his hat-trick. The first one was unassisted while Zachary Myers set up the second goal.
Wyandotte took a 1-0 lead early in the second period, but West came back less than 90 seconds later with Tyler Thirlby's powerplay goal from Willie Hanrahan. Wyandotte once again took the lead a minute later, but Grizzel answered with an unassisted goal.
Carter Edmonson got the win in net for the Titans with 26 saves.

Grosse Pointe South 2 TC Central 1
Grosse Pointe South beat TC Central 2-1 in a meeting of state-ranked teams at the MIHL Showcase.
The Blue Devils took the lead just over 2 minutes into the game on a Wes Cimmarrusti goal. Four minutes later, the Trojans (16-5-1) tied it up when Cooper Macdonnell scored a shorthanded goal from Cam Givens.
Cam Gibson got the winner for GP South in the third period on a shorthanded goal.
For TC Central, Bill Vermetten made 31 saves.
Grandville 3 Bay Reps 2
The Bay Reps scored two powerplay goals, but fell to Grandville 3-2 in the MIHL Showcase.
Grandville took a 2-0 lead in the first period behind goals from Corey Giffel. The Reps (9-12) would come back to tie it after a P.J. Heger goal in the second and Zach Hill goal in the third.
Nate Lipski scored the winner for Grandville late in the third period.
Quinn Lyman had two assists for the Reps while Hill and Nick Sicinski each had one. John Posler made 19 saves.
Kalamazoo 3 Northwest Warriors 2
The Kalamazoo Eagles topped the host Northwest Warriors, 3-2.
The Warriors (7-14) had a big night from sophomore goalie Luke Somsel, who stopped 37 shots. He was the difference this time, as Kalamazoo had previously beaten the Warriors 10-2.
Justin Judge and Drew Black each had a goal for Northwest while Trevor Apsey had two assists.
Girls Hoops
McBain 58 TC Central 55
McBain held on for a 58-55 win over host Traverse City Central in a game that went back-and-forth.
The Ramblers (15-1) made seven-of-eight free throws in the fourth quarter to help earn the win.
Annemarie Hamlet had 18 points for McBain while Brittany Watson added 12 points.
For the Trojans (9-8), Katie Knudsen had 24 points while Molly Walker added 12 points.
TC Central hosts St. Francis on Tuesday.
WRESTLING
TC West moves three to regionals
Traverse City West had three wrestlers qualify for next week's Division 1 individual regional.
The Titans competed at the Davision district on Saturday and will return there next week for regional action.
Moving on for the Titans were senior heavyweight Liam Curtis, who went 2-1 for second, as well as third-place finishers Trevor Willnow and James Peck. Willnow went 3-1 at 189 points while Peck was 3-1 at 215.
As a team, the Titans will compete in Wednesday's team regional at Midland against Saginaw Heritage.
POWER LIFTING
West girls first, boys third at regional
Host Traverse City West's girls finished first while the Titan boys were third at Saturday's power lifting regional.
More than 200 athletes competed in the event, with the top three in each weight class moving on to the state finals. Whitehall's Tyler Goerib was the best overall lifter with 1,365 pounds.
State qualifiers in the girls competition from TC West were Jess Stevenson at 132 pounds (435), Sage Cherbenneau at 145 pounds (285) and Elk Rapids' Dre Shelton at 198 pounds (445).
Mesick's Issaac Sawyer won the 207-pound weight class (1,155) while Mike Riojas moved on at 181 pounds (1,085). Kingsley's Connor Fitzpatrick won the 181-pound weight class (1,170) while teammate Corey Nuckles advanced at 194 pounds (970).
Other boys to qualify for the state finals were TC West's Devin Matthews at 207 pounds (1,035) and Chance Murphy at 275 pounds (920), as well as Benzie's Gavin Sauer at 220 (1,120) and Elk Rapids 132-pounder Anthony DiGiovanni (705).
BOWLING
Trojans upset Titans in final meet
TC Central's Black team beat GNHSBC champ and unbeaten TC West Green by three pins in the regular season finale.
The Titans had already clinched the Division I/II crown. Leading the Trojans were Jordan Erickson (222) and Justin Auguston (236) while the Titans had a 226 each from Zac Crouch and Ben Morhardt.
TC Christian beat Elk Rapids Orange to remain unbeaten in Division III/IV. The Sabres were led by Jon Tuck (265) and Nathan Haggard (230) while the Elks had a 211 from Mackenzie Wolfgram.
In the D-3 championship, TC Central Gold beat TC Christian White. Also, TC West Gold beat Elk Rapids Black 17-13 behind a 212 from Gates Muller. Bellaire Red beat Benzie Central 24-6, St. Francis beat Kingsley 16-14 and TC Prep beat Glen Lake 25-5.
In girls action, Bellaire stayed unbeaten with a 28-2 win over TC West. Deserae Zoulek and Kristen Schlegel had a 195 for the Eagles while West had a 171 from Kaila Wiederhold. Glen Lake beat Benzie Central.
The league will hold conference championships next week with a singles tournament on Friday and the team tournament on Saturday.
