KINGSLEY — Host Kingsley rallied in the second set Tuesday for a 25-16, 25-19, 25-9 Northwest Conference win over Suttons Bay.

The Stags (16-4-1) trailed 11-0 in the second set before winning 25-19.

Katie Travis had 18 kills, two blocks and was 6-for-6 serving, Kenzie Meeker had 18 digs, four kills and was 23-24 serving with six aces, Leah Hall had 28 assists and 6-6 serving, Andre Lee was perfect serving with three kills, Katie Garey had 13 digs and four aces off 22-22 serving while Lilly Travis had 11 digs, three kills and 4-4 serving.

Suttons Bay had seven kills, two blocks and 4-4 serving from Larissa Hunter, Jayne McFarlan had 13 assists, five digs and was 22-22 serving with three aces, Kailey Capron had four kills while Chantel Konopka was 3-3 serving with two kills and 10 digs.

VOLLEYBALL

Leland      3 Mesick      0

Leland rolled to a 25-13, 25-13, 25-9 Northwest Conference sweep of Mesick.

The Comets (17-5-1, 2-0 NWC) had three kills and 11 assists from Sammie Sterkenburg, 16 assists and two aces for Caitlin McKee, two aces and three kills from Alisha Whittaker, five aces and six kills from Andrea Hunt and 13 kills from Brooke Olesnavage.

Leland is at Big Rapids Crossroads on Saturday.

Benzie Central      3 Frankfort      0

Benzie Central swept Frankfort 25-18, 25-9, 25-15 in Northwest Conference action.

The Huskies had 57 assists, 17 digs and three aces from Molly Lange while Maddy Lutzke had 26 kills, 12 digs, four aces and five blocks. Jenna Gauthier had 16 kills, 20 digs, four aces and five blocks, Maggie Geddings had 18 assists and 12 digs, Emily Scott had 25 digs and Kelsey Judge had 17 digs.

Forest Area      3 Bellaire      1

Forest Area traveled to Bellaire and emerged with a 25-19, 25-27, 25-18, 25-11 Ski Valley Conference win over the Eagles.

The Warriors (20-6-1, 3-0 SVC) had 14 kills from Tabitha Cecil, 20 assists from Megan Gifford, 14 digs and six aces from Emily Gonyer, 20 digs from Kourtni Birgy and a good floor game from Alyssa Birgy.

Forest Area is at Beal City on Saturday.

Northport      3 Manistee Catholic      1

Northport came away with a 25-19, 18-25, 25-22, 25-15 road win at Manistee Catholic.

The Wildcats had 21 digs from Dylan Burgurad, 20 digs from Sam Mork, 10 digs, 34 assists and five kills from Megan Popp, 28 assists from Fiona Muller, 13 digs from Autumn Huck and 12 kills, 11 digs and five aces from Rachael Thon.

Northport hosts Bellaire on Thursday.

St. Francis      3 Kalkaska      0

St. Francis rolled to a 25-11, 25-10, 25-12 Lake Michigan Conference win over Kalkaska.

The Glads (21-4-3, 3-0 LMC) had 17 assists and eight aces from Kaitlyn Hegewald, nine digs and two aces from Bridget Bussell, six kills and six digs from Laura Kirchofer and three digs and two kills from Angie Aboudib.

St. Francis lost the JV match 2-1. Jenny Marsh had five kills and five digs while Brooklyn Barber had six digs.

Bellaire     4 Forest Area     1

Doug Verellen scored two goals as Bellaire beat Forest Area 4-1.

Nic Underwood added a goal and an assist. MacKenzie Ciganick also tallied. Noah Suppes picked up two assists and Christoph Radtke one for the Eagles (8-4, 2-1).

TC West     5 Alpena     3

Traverse City West won three doubles flights en route to a 5-3 Big North win over Alpena.

The Titans picked up wins from Jeff Linenger (6-4, 6-4), Ashton Lawton (6-4, 6-4), Kieran Laursen-David Mather (6-1, 6-0), Sam VanHoorne-Zack Walton (6-3, 6-1) and Jake Newhouse-Mitch Winowiecki (6-0, 6-2).

TC Central     7 Cadillac     1

Traverse City Central, without No. 1 singles player Peter Pappas, defeated Cadillac 7-1 to finish 4-0 in Big North dual meets.

The Trojans moved the other three singles players up a flight and all won — Skyler Norgaard (6-0, 6-1), Daniel Fedor (6-2, 6-0) and Garrett Kosch (6-0, 6-0). Kosch is now 19-0. Cadillac's Evan Kornacki took No. 4 singles (6-2, 6-4).

Central swept doubles — Caleb Heimburger-Hayden Drury (6-2, 6-0), Sean Soupiset-Cam Young (6-0, 6-0), Max Knoblock-Nick Yergens (6-0, 6-1) and Trey Pezzetti-Yani Beeker (6-0, 6-4). The Nos. 2,3 and 4 doubles teams are 22-0.

Central, ranked No. 5 in Division II, competes in the Midland Dow Invitational today.

TC Central's JV moved to 3-0 with a 7-1 win. The Trojans swept doubles wins with Jeff McAndrews/Alex Sheridan, Jack Seymour/Michael Meidertsma, Danny Madion/Carl Rasmussen and Logan Brown/Lucas Nielsen. Singles winners were John Whiting, Ron Dohm and Austin Harrison.

Swimming

Traverse City falls short in double dual

Traverse City came up on the short end of a double dual, losing to Ludington (101-84) and Manistee (124-59).

Suha Augenstein won the diving with a 189.40, which qualified her for regionals. Olivia Verellen won the 200 freestyle (2:11.73) and Erin Cover won the 200 IM (2:33.02).

Cover was second in the 100 butterfly (1:12.07), Verellen was third in the 100 breaststroke (1:21.07), Verellen, Cover, Becky Stanwick and Haley Hushak were second in the 200 medley relay (2:11.40) and Cover, Lauren Pfughoeft, Stanwick and Jami Chung were third in the 400 free relay (4:26.70).
