FIFE LAKE -- Forest Area handed Onaway its first Ski Valley Conference loss of the season with a 25-14, 25-19, 25-21 victory.
The Warriors (24-4-1, 4-0 SVC) had 35 assists and eight digs from Katie Johnson, 12 kills and 10 digs from Chelsea Strine, 12 kills and 15 digs from Mae Johnson, nine digs from Marissa Ingersoll and eight digs from Camille Tornow.

Mancelona 1
Gaylord St. Mary finished off a four-set Ski Valley Conference victory over Mancelona.
The Snowbirds won 25-18, 25-19, 23-25, 25-19.
Mancelona (4-11-1, 1-3 SVC) had 10 digs from Tasha Simmons; 13 digs, nine kills and two blocks from Shantelle Adams; and 18-for-18 serving with 16 digs from Kiesha Nichols.

Bellaire 0
Pellston improved to 4-0 in the Ski Valley with a 25-7, 25-15, 25-21 win over Bellaire.
The Hornets (26-4-4) were led by Katie Dzedzie (14 kills, seven digs), Rachel Hutto (four kills, five digs), Tayler Friend (two aces, seven kills, nine digs), Samantha McNitt (three aces, eight assists, eight digs) and Kalce Smith (two aces, 14 assists, eight digs).

Leland earned a 25-17, 25-17, 25-16 Northwest Conference win over Buckley.
The Bears had a strong showing from Emily Gibler in her first match of the season. Buckley will play at TC Christian on Thursday.

Benzie Central picked up a 25-20, 25-8, 25-13 Northwest Conference win over Glen Lake.
The Huskies (24-8-2 3-0 NWC) had 15 kills, five aces and two blocks from Sara Thurkettle; Haeley Melton had five kills, three blocks, six digs; Jenna Scheele had six kills and a block; and Corrie Noah had four kills, a block, six digs and was 12-for-12 serving. Raenee Harig had 34 assists and had four aces and a 10-point run in the second game.
The Lakers (7-17-2, 1-2 NWC) had 12 digs from Casey Kahler, three digs and six assists from Natalie Flowers, six digs from Sara Popp and two kills, seven digs and a block from Krissy Bush.
Kahler, Flowers and Popp were all perfect serving.
Kingsley picks up wins over Frankfort, Manistee
Kingsley swept through a tri-meet with Frankfort and Manistee.
The Stags (23-3, 3-0 NWC) beat Frankfort 25-8, 25-21, 25-21 in Northwest Conference play while getting Manistee 25-12, 25-10 in non-conference action.
Hannah Bach had 18 kills and six aces on 14-for-14 serving while Sam Zubalik had 16 kills, 14 digs and four aces on 32-for-32 serving. Chelsea Edgcombe added nine kills and seven digs, Lauren Leach had 12 kills, three blocks and eight digs, Erica Berridge had 47 assists and 10 digs while Katie Nickerson added 13 digs.
Suttons Bay beats Mesick, GT Academy
Suttons Bay won a tri-meet with a 25-15, 25-11, 25-13 Northwest Conference win over Mesick and a 25-11, 25-20 non-conference victory over Grand Traverse Academy.
The Huskies (16-8-4, 3-0 NWC) had three kills, seven digs and two aces off 16-for-16 serving from Ana Wodek, Hildi Forton had 42 assists and nine digs, Kyra Schivley added 13 kills and six digs, Angela Patterson was perfect serving with eight kills, four digs and three aces, Emily Send was perfect serving with 20 kills and Hannah Olson had eight kills.
