Shock coming to TC Saturday

TRAVERSE CITY -- In a rematch of last year's WNBA Final, the Detroit Shock will play the San Antonio Silver Stars in an preseason game Saturday at Traverse City West Senior High School.

Game time is 7 p.m.

Tickets are $15 per person and free for children age 2 and younger. Tickets are available for purchase at the TC West Senior High athletic office from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

    Late in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the New York Rangers at NHL Prospects Tournament at Centre ICE, Detroit defenseman Brian Lashoff showed off what he can do. Lashoff stopped a shot on the team's empty net, skated down to the other end, got the puck back from his teammates and buried it in the back of the Rangers net.

    This one came easy. Scott Hebert claimed his fourth consecutive Michigan PGA Championship by coasting to victory in the 54-hole tournament. The 40-year-old professional at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa entered the final round with a 5-shot lead.
