Healing workshop

Buckley — Shirley Jo Petersen, founder and director of Healing Private Wounds, will facilitate a workshop dealing with healing from sexual wounds.

Free movie night

Elk Rapids — First Presbyterian Church will sponsor free screenings of the movie "Courageous" at 4 and 7 p.m. Saturday, June 30, in the Lighthouse, the corner of Elm and First streets. Child care will be available at each showing. Call 264-0564 for details.

Chicken barbecue

Traverse City — A chicken barbecue will be served from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Old Mission Peninsula United Methodist Church, 16426 Center Road.

Summer Church

Leland — Leland Summer Church will meet Sundays starting July 1 at 9:30 a.m. at Leland Community United Methodist Church, 106 N. Fourth St. Different speakers will be featured each week.

'Godspell' opens

Traverse City — Miracle Productions will stage the musical "Godspell" at the City Opera House, 106 E. Front St.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, June 28-July 1; Tuesday, July 3; and Thursday through Sunday, July 5-8.
