Bert Orland Kuehlhorn

WILLIAMSBURG — Bert Kuehlhorn, 98, of Williamsburg, passed away June 20, 2012, at Munson Hospice House. Bert was born on Oct. 6, 1913, in Milwaukee, Wis., to the late Adolph and Ella (Katzbach) Kuehlhorn.

During World War II Bert served our country as a member of the United States Army. He was honorably discharged after five years of faithful service.

Bert lived in Chicago for much of his life and worked as a packaging engineer.

He retired to Lancaster County, Va., and in later years moved to Traverse City with his wife, Dorothy.

In his spare time, Bert loved to scuba dive and tend to his garden.

Bert was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna; and his second wife, Dorothy.

Bert is survived by his sons, Bert, Donald, Jonathon and Bernard; grandchildren, Michelle, Tim, Sean, Caitlin, Matthew (Annie), Sara and John; and great-grandchildren, Penelope and Taj.

A memorial gathering will be held at 4100 N. Long Lake Road in Traverse City on Sunday, June 24, 2012, from 2 until 5 p.m.
