DivorceCare class

Medical assistants
Traverse City — Certified Medical Assistants from the Northwest Chapter of the Michigan Society of Medical Assistants will meet Monday, Oct. 15, at 5:45 p.m. at West Front Primary Care, 3537 W. Front St. There will be a potluck and a business meeting.
Gentle yoga offered
Traverse City — The Grand Traverse Circuit, 225 W. 14th St., offers ongoing classes in OM Gentle Yoga.
The class is led by Kelly Stiglich, co-owner of Shanti School of Yoga. It meets from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays. A $10 gratitude donation is suggested, with a portion given back to the community for individuals to take yoga classes at local yoga studios. Everyone is welcome.
Driver safety class
Traverse City — AARP will offer a classroom driver refresher class for adults 50 and older.
The class will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Oct. 18-19, at the Commission on Aging office, 520 W. Front St. The cost is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-member.

Healing service
Traverse City — Grace Episcopal Church will offer a service of healing on the festival of St. Luke.
The service will start at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at the church, 341 Washington St. It will include prayers, readings, music, the laying on of hands and anointing. For details, call 947-2330.
'Grace' course
Williamsburg — New Hope Community Church will sponsor the "Grace Course" from Freedom in Christ Ministries.
The program will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, and 8:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the church, 5100 Bethesda Cot. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided Saturday.

'HeartSkills'
Traverse City — A HeartSkills workshop and eight-week video series titled "The Power to Create and Sustain Wealth: Developing a Heart for Prosperity" by Dr. Jim Richards will be facilitated by Julie and Dave Eickenroth.
The workshop will meet 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Res Life Church, 2586 Crossing Circle, behind BAM. Donations will be accepted.
The video series will meet eight Mondays starting Oct. 22 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Church of the Living God, 1514 Birmley Road. The cost is $8 per person per week; $5 a week for students.

Arts and crafts fest

Wellness day
Frankfort — Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital will host its 16th Annual Wellness Day Saturday, Oct. 20.
Activities from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. will include free health screenings, blood typing, health information, and more. For details, call 352-2260. A brief phone screening including age, gender, and income questions may be needed to qualify for services that require pre-registration.
'Party with the Pig'
Traverse City — The "Party with the Pig" picnic hosted by The Cook's House will benefit the Traverse Health Clinic.
The pig roast will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, under a tent adjacent to The Cook's House, 115 Wellington St. Tickets are 100 percent tax deductible and cost $35 until Wednesday, Oct. 17; $45 after that date and at the door. There also will be a cash bar, music and a silent auction.

Help Missy Hromada
Buckley — A benefit will be held Sunday, Oct. 21, for Missy Hromada, who was diagnosed with advanced stage 4 colon cancer in August.
The event will be held noon to 8 p.m. at the Southside Hideout, 620 W. Wexford Ave. There will be a spaghetti buffet, silent auction, raffle, bake sale and live music by Lost Cause, Evershine and Scarkazm. Admission is $7 per person.
