Burt Lake NMCA beats Houghton Lake

GLEN LAKE -- Suttons Bay posted a 2-0 Greater Northwest Conference win at Glen Lake on Monday.

The Norse (11-6-2, 8-2-1) got the shutout behind keeper Jared Orban, who made 13 saves.

Ian Callewaert scored for Suttons Bay in the first header off a header. Garrett Bassett provided the assist. Late in the game, Ryan Manning added a goal from Mason Darling.

Suttons Bay will wrap up the regular season on Wednesday at home against Benzie Central.

Harbor Light earned a 7-2 non-conference win over Buckley.

The Bears had goals from Zach Traylor on a Ryan Hogarth assist, and Sam Hogarth off a penalty kick.

Northport 1

Benzie Central earned a 2-1 Greater Northwest Conference win over Northport on senior night.

Julian Hills scored for the Huskies (6-7-4) off a corner kick from Samuel Hahn while Andrew Worden also had a goal off a Jared Ponder assist.

Bill Stowe had Northport's goal.

Houghton Lake 0

Burt Lake Northern Michigan Christian Academy ended the season with a 2-0 Northern Michigan Soccer League crossover win at Houghton Lake.

The Eagles (17-4) had 25 shots on the night and hit the post eight times.

Paul Chatfield scored both goals while Stave Compton provided both assists.

Will Lovitt, Josh Lovitt and Robert Traylor played strong defense in front of goalie Josh Fosmore, who made seven saves.

Forest Area 3
McBain 1

Forest Area finished the regular season 9-7 after a Northern Michigan Soccer League crossover win over McBain.

The Warriors broke a scoreless game with 15 minutes to go when Justin Jensen scored of a Tom Markel assist.

Cullen Lane netted the winner with 7 minutes remaining off a Marco Martinez assist. Matt Leffew added a goal off of penalty kick in the final minutes.

Lane and Cody McVaugh split time in net for Forest Area.
