TRAVERSE CITY — Traverse City St. Francis repeated as district softball champs with a 10-0 win over Glen Lake in the title game.
The Glads (27-11) also beat Lake Leelanau St. Mary's 8-1 in the first game Saturday.
On the day, St. Francis allowed four hits — two in each game. Emily Walters pitched the first win with no earned runs while Bailey Johnson had 16 strikeouts in the Division 4 title game.
Against St. Mary's, Ellen Kendziorski had three hits while Emily Buckel, Sarah Brunner and Colleen Roddy each had two RBIs. Heather Larsen had two hits, two RBIs and three runs in the finale while Brunner and Kaitlyn Bussell each had two hits.
Panthers edge MCC to capture district
Frankfort scored the winning run in the top of the seventh on a throwing error to beat Manistee Catholic 3-2 in a Division 4 championship game.
The Panthers, 21-15-1, trailed 2-0 and then scored single runs in the third and fifth innings to tie it. In the seventh, Mindy Smith singled, Tami Banktson was hit by a pitch, Paige Banktson walked and then Smith scampered home on a throwing error by the catcher.
Tami Banktson pitched a four-hitter for the win. The Panthers were held to three hits. Brittany Soper had one of the hits and scored twice. Smith singled and scored while Jessica Schaub had a bunt single.
Frankfort advanced with an 11-1 win over Bear Lake. The Panthers had just two hits — doubles by Smith — but were aided by 15 walks.
Tami Banktson fired a two-hitter, striking out 10.
Manistee Catholic had defeated Brethren 8-7 in its opener Saturday.
Frankfort, which plays Forest Area in the 10 a.m. game of the Lake Leelanau St. Mary's regional next Saturday, also won the district last season.
Thornton pitches Bellaire to district championship
Freshman Katie Thornton pitched Bellaire to a Division 4 district crown.
Thornton tossed a three-hitter as Bellaire beat Boyne Falls 8-1 in the title game. She also helped herself at the plate, finishing with three hits and three RBIs.
Bellaire, now 13-17, edged host Ellsworth 8-7 in its opener. Mary Walsh had two hits and two RBIs for the Eagles. Mackenzie Verellen doubled and drove in two. Thornton picked up the win. Bellaire will face St. Francis in the regional next Saturday.

Marquette edges TC West in final
Marquette pushed across two runs in the top of the seventh to snap a 2-2 tie, and then held Traverse City West in the bottom half of the inning, to pull out a 4-3 win in the Division 1 district final here.
"It was a heartbreaker," West coach Kathy Breece said.
Kelly Flynn led the Titans with two hits and a run. Tina Green drove in a run earlier in the game.
West, which finished 16-17, beat Alpena 6-3 in its opener Saturday. Lauren Bilinski pitched a three-hitter, striking out four. Sarah Goudey and Rachael Barnes pounded out two hits apiece. Barnes scored twice.
division 3
Kalkaska wins seventh district title in a row
Kalkaska won its seventh consecutive district title Saturday, beating Elk Rapids 4-0 in a Division 3 championship game.
Jen Spann pitched the shutout, striking out 12. Kalkaska, 31-7, tied a school record for most wins in a season.
Jessie Spoor tossed a two-hitter in defeat. The Blazers scored three runs in the second without a hit. Jamie Myas singled in Kalkaska's fourth run.
Kalkaska, which will play in the Mancelona regional next Saturday, advanced with a 7-4 win over Kingsley. The game was tied at 3-3 in the top of the seventh when Spann delivered a bases-loaded double that drove in three. The Blazers had tied the game at 3 in the top of the fourth when Taren Fales doubled, moved to third on a grounder and scored on Brittney Short's grounder.
Spann tossed a four-hitter, striking out seven.
Spoor pitched a five-inning perfect game as Elk Rapids beat Suttons Bay 10-0. The Elks, 16-19, had three hits apiece from Madi Gosselin, Claira Freeman and Stephanie Niepoth. Spoor and Sarah Otte added two hits to the attack.
Charlevoix pulls a surprise in district
East Jordan won the Lake Michigan Conference, but Charlevoix claimed the Division 3 district.
The Rayders edged East Jordan 2-1 in the semifinals and then turned back Mancelona 2-1 in the finals to claim the district.
Hannah Hybl tossed a four-hitter in beating East Jordan. The Rayders, meanwhile, had just two hits off Shaina Peters, but they made them count. Nikki Speigel doubled in a run and Maddy Zimmerman homered over the fence.
In the title game, Hybl fired a two-hitter in outdueling Kallie Derrer, who allowed just four hits. Katie Hybl had two of Charlevoix's four hits. Nichole Pischner and Megan Klooster drove in the Rayder runs. Derrer tripled and Audrey Burk singled for Mancelona.
Mancelona reached the title game with a 3-2 win over Harbor Springs. Derrer notched the win. Shantelle Adams had two hits, including a home run, for Mancelona. Nichole Page pounded out two doubles and two RBIs for Harbor Springs.
