EAST JORDAN -- Shaina Peters led East Jordan to a pair of 1-0 Lake Michigan Conference wins over Kalkaska on Tuesday.
Peters threw a no-hitter in the opener with 14 strikeouts. In the nightcap, she gave up three hits with nine strikeouts.
Jen Spahn have up four hits with 10 strikeouts in the first game for the Blazers (9-5, 5-3 LMC) while allowing two hits in the second game. Brittany Short had two hits for Kalkaska in the second game.

Amy Brunner led St. Francis to a 13-0, 11-8 Lake Michigan Conference sweep of Grayling.
Brunner pitched the win in the opener with four hits and eight strikeouts. In the nightcap, she combined with Sarah Brunner and Rachel Overmire for the win and helped her own cause with four hits and two RBIs.
St. Francis (10-6, 6-2 LMC) also had two hits in the first game from Sarah Brunner, Kelly Day and Emily Buckel while Day and Buckel had two hits in the nightcap.
In the second game, Grayling's (4-6, 1-5 LMC) Cayla Johnson went 2-for-2 while Makenna Harwood added two hits, including a homer.

Kate Colmus pitched Traverse City West to a 12-8 Big North Conference win over Alpena in the first of two games.
Colmus, Rachael Barnes and Lauren Bilinski paced the Titans at the plate with two hits.
Alpena won the nightcap 12-9. Barnes, Colmus and Jenn Hill had two hits.

Cadillac swept Traverse City Central in Big North Conference play.
Lauren Rockafellow took the loss for the Trojans (2-11, 0-6 BNC) in the 14-11 opener while Meredith Aja had three hits, including a homer. Mariah Sika had two hits.
Nikki Cook took the loss in the nightcap while Rockafellow had two hits.

Mesick moved to 12-0 with a 7-2, 8-6 Northwest Conference sweep of Kingsley.
Courtney Clough pitched both wins for the Bulldogs.
Erin Hamilton and Autumn Hutchings each had two hits for Mesick in the first game. In the nightcap, Jenna Mahoney had two hits and two RBIs, Raine Dinsmore had two hits, Clough had a two-run single, and Hamilton and Ashley Wheeler each doubled.

Kayla Nye and Tami Banktson hurled one-hitters as Frankfort swept Suttons Bay 15-0 and 12-2 in a Northwest Conference doubleheader.
Laney Eubank had three doubles and Kristy Boomer a double and triple to pace the Panthers (10-5-1, 4-1-1) in the opener. Brittany Soper, Mindy Smith and Kirstin Kidder all had two hits.
Eubank, Smith and Kidder pounded out two hits in the nightcap. Smith homered.

Lauren O'Brien tossed a two-hit shutout as Glen Lake beat Benzie Central 1-0 in the opener of a Northwest Conference twinbill.
Marriah Sobczak scored the game's lone run on a Kristen Pleva bunt.
O'Brien allowed seven hits in Glen Lake's 6-3 win in the nightcap. She also helped her own cause with three hits and an RBI. Katie Drzewiecki added two hits, including a triple. Hanna Therrien and Sobczak had RBI singles in the Lakers six-run second inning. Pleva had her 100th career hit.
Alyssa Smith had a two-run triple for Benzie. Jackie Frederick chipped in three hits in the two games.

Michelle Edwards had three hits in both games to lead Central Lake to a 14-1, 16-14 sweep of Boyne Falls.
Tasha Krouse also had three hits in the opener for the Trojans (4-10).
Edwards had a homer and four RBIs in the second game while Whitney Moon had three hits and three RBIs.

St. Francis moved to 10-0 with a sweep of Grayling.
Emily Walters pitched the win in the first game while Alyssa Stachnik scored four runs and Maggie Esler had four hits and three doubles.
Colleen Roddy was the winner in the second game. Walters had four hits. Caitlin Coates had three RBIs.
