TC West goes 2-3 at softball tourney

STERLING HEIGHTS -- Traverse City West won two of five games at the weekend-long Michigan Stars Tournament.

The 48-team softball event ended Sunday.

The Titans (8-8) started off with an 8-1 loss to Richmond, bouncing back with a 4-3 victory against Troy.

North Farmington topped West 5-0, and the Titans again bounced back with a win, this time against Hartland 8-5, before Southgate Anderson won a 7-0 decision.

Kate Colmus was the winning pitcher in both of the Titans' victories.

Tori Lockwood had four hits and was selected to the all-tournament teams.

Rachael Barned had three hits and four RBIs, Jen Hill added three hits and Sarah Goudey chipped in three hits and two RBIs.

The Titans host Traverse City Central on Tuesday.
