Glen Lake 19 17
Buckley 6 2

Glen Lake took the lead in the Northwest Conference with a 19-6 and 17-2 sweep of Buckley.

Kaley Pleva earned the win in the opener. Paige Pickard had three hits and scored three runs for the Lakers (12-12-1, 8-1-1). Kristen Pleva, Cristy Kandel, Katie Drzewiecki and Lauren O'Brien contributed two hits. O'Brien drove in three, Kristen Pleva two. Mariah Sobczak scored four runs. Lynn Davis and Emily Gibler had two hits apiece for Buckley.

O'Brien hurled a six-hitter in a 17-2 win in the second game. Pickard, Kristen Pleva and Sobczak had two hits apiece. Pleva and Sobczak drove in two runs. Pickard scored three runs and Kaley Pleva and Kandel two.

Mesick 1 9
Frankfort 0 1

Ashley Wheeler pitched Mesick to a 1-0, 9-1 Northwest Conference sweep of Frankfort.

Wheeler also drove in the lone run in the opener, doubling in Danielle Hindman in the first inning.

The Panthers (17-9-2, 7-3-2 NWC) had a triple in the opener from Laney Eubank while Allison May also had a hit. Mesick turned three double plays.

Wheeler, Erica Hamilton and Porshe Lanning all had two hits in the nightcap for Mesick (16-4, 8-2). Lanning drove in two.

Brittany Soper had two hits for Frankfort while Paige Banktson doubled.

Benzie Central 2 4

Kingsley beat Benzie Central 4-2 and 5-4 in Northwest Conference action.

The Stags (6-3-1) had two hits in each game from Amy Wiggins while Kayla Lehn singled and doubled in both contests. Jessica Johnson pitched both wins.

Suttons Bay 1 6
Leland 0 5

Anne Reyhl singled in the game's lone run in the first inning as Suttons Bay edged Leland 1-0 in the opener of a Northwest Conference doubleheader.

Laureen Schmidt struck out nine in the win. Olivia Raftshol had two hits for the Norse.

Suttons Bay (3-15) won the nightcap 6-5 as freshman Keeley Forrester doubled in two runs in the sixth. Schmidt picked up the win.

TC West 8 6
Cadillac 4 3

Tori Lockwood and Laura Cizek each had three hits in the 8-4 opener of a Traverse City West sweep of Cadillac.

Cizek tripled and drove in two runs, while Alison Friar had two hits and three RBIs.

Jen Hathaway added two hits in the nightcap, and Rachael Barnes scored two runs.

The Titans (17-8, 6-2 Big North) host Kalkaska on Thursday and Petoskey in a make-up twinbill Monday that could go a long way in deciding the BNC champion.

Gaylord 4 16
TC Central 3 6

Gaylord swept a Big North Conference twinbill from Traverse City Central, 4-3 and 16-6.

Jen Pomante went 3-for-4 in the first game for the Trojans (5-19, 0-10). Paige Bell added a hit and scored a run.

Nikki Schaub and Pamonte had two hits in the second game.

Central hosts Mancelona today.

Kalkaska 6 12
TC St. Francis 4 2

Jen Spann picked up two wins as Kalkaska swept a pair of games from Traverse City St. Francis, 6-4 and 12-2.

Brittney Short had three hits and two RBIs in the twinbill, while Kacy Huddleston drove in two runs.

Jamie Myas had two hits and an RBI in the opener and Kristi Peters two hits and three RBIs in the nightcap for the Blazers (17-5, 9-3).

Elk Rapids 6 7
Grayling 5 1

Stephanie Niepoth had three doubles among her four hits as Elk Rapids swept Grayling 6-5 and 7-1.

Niepoth was 2-for-3 in the opener, as Courtney Isenhart picked up the win and Jessie Spoor the save for the Elks (13-11, 4-8). Kacey Anderson was also 2-for-3 with a double and catcher Brandi Michaels had a hit and a run.

In the nightcap, Spoor struck out five for the win and was 2-for-3 at the plate. Niepoth added two doubles and two runs.

Forest Area 7 14
Boyne Falls 2 5

Kaleigh Policka pitched Forest Area to 7-2 and 14-5 wins over Boyne Falls.

Courtney Steile led the Warriors (6-14, 1-9) with three hits in the opener. Angel Bayne and Ashley Czuk added two hits and two RBIs.

Czuk went 4-for-5 with two RBIs in the nightcap. Allie Garret collected three hits, including a double and triple, to go with two RBIs. Sabrina Stambaugh chipped in two hits and two RBIs.

St. Francis JV 3 6
Kalkaska JV 2 14

Traverse City St. Francis dropped its first game of the season in a split with Kalkaska.

The Blazers won the second game of the pair 14-6.

Emily Walters drove in the winning run with a single in the opener's eighth inning, and was also the winning pitcher.

Maggie Esler and C.J. Zamarron each had two hits for the Gladiators (19-1).

TC West JV 12 15
Cadillac JV 7 3

Danica Makowski homered as Traverse City West JV beat Cadillac 12-7 in the opener of a doubleheader.

Katie Doornbos collected three hitsfor the Titans. Jennifer Kennedy was the winning pitcher.

Kennedy also earned in the nightcap, a 15-3 West win. Paige Malocha and Jennifer Campbell pounded out three hits apiece for the Titans (17-2).
