KALKASKA — Jack Jamieson became the first four-time Lake Michigan Conference wrestling champion, winning the 145-pound weight class at the league's championship tournament Saturday in Kalkaska.
Jamieson won the weight class with a 2-0 mark to become one of Traverse City St. Francis' seven individual champs as the Gladiators ran away with the team title.
Grayling was second with four champs and Elk Rapids and Boyne City had one each.
St. Francis — which hosts team districts on Wednesday with Forest Area and Kalkaska — also received first-place efforts from Eric Wales (103 pounds), Matt Mawby (130), Isaiah Schaub (135), Ben Jamieson (140), Alex Pacardat (189) and Jake Khoury (285).
Taking second-place medals for the Glads were Trica Martin (112), Mike Ostrom (119), Zach Schaub (125), Nick Kester (152) and Haydn Wilson (215).
Grayling had league champs in Gage Toomy (125), Brandon Hendrich (152), Ty Johnsen (171) and Ryan Randall (215). Elk Rapids' Matt Clarkson was the 112-pound class, and Boyne's John Talo took the 160-pound crown.

G.R. Forest Hills C. 9 Northwest Warriors 1
Jake Stricker scored his first goal since coming back from a broken foot in the Northwest Warriors' 9-1 setback to Grand Rapids Forest Hills Central.
Luke Somsel made 35 saves for the Warriors, who play three of their next four games at home, starting with hosting Mid-Michigan on Friday and Kalamazoo on Saturday at Centre ICE.

TC West tops Elks in GNHWBC matchup
Two top teams squared off in the Great Northwest High School Bowling Conference's ninth meet of the season at Lucky Jack's.
The headlining match between TC West Green (9-0) and Elk Rapids Orange (7-2) was won by the Titans 18-12 in a close match.
"We got lucky with a couple of breaks as Elk Rapids has a very good team," West coach Clyde Johnson said.
Jacob Noble (264) and Zach Crouch (227) paced the Titans while Zach Vandeveer (203) and MacKenzie Wolfgram (219) led the Elks.
"Our Baker games could have been better but we came back in singles and never gave up," Elk Rapids coach Ken Hicks said.
In other action, Traverse City Central defeated Benzie Central, setting conference team high game (1057) and conference team high series (2056) in the match. The Trojans were led by Justin Augustson (474 series; 269 and 205), Jordan Harnick (427 series; 244 and 183), Jordan Erickson (241) and Brad Wozniak (222). The Huskies were led by their two top bowlers in Chris Morris (206) and Logan Wolfgang (196).
"We are finally starting to bowl to our potential and right on time for conference and regional tournaments," Central coach Jim Orr said. "This was a solid team effort and they are finally realizing it's a team sport."
Kingsley defeated Glen Lake 29-1 and was paced by Travis Hull (167), while the Lakers were led by Charlie Thatch (160).
TC Christian Maroon clinched first place in the Division III/IV race by defeating Bellaire Red 23-7. The Sabers were led by Sang Min Lee (216), while Cody Comben bowled (448 series; 257 and 191). Todd Puroll (204) and Nick Betten (202) led the way for the Eagles.
Traverse City St. Francis defeated Traverse City Prep 24-6 and was led by Leah Schmerheim (164).
TC Christian White remained in first place in Division 3 running their record to 8-1 by defeating Bellaire Black 24-6. Sam Anthony (203) led the Sabers.
TC Central Gold defeated TC West Gold 25-5. The Trojans were led by Katie Vreeland (200), while Kellor Flees paced the Titans (181).
Bellaire remained undefeated in conference play with a 29-1 win over Benzie Central. Kristen Schlegel (203), Deserae Zoulek (194) and Destiny Zoulek (192) led the Eagles. Beth Withem was high for the Huskies with a 127.
TC West defeated Glen Lake by a score of 28-2. Amanda Thomas was high for the Titans with a 164 and Katie Johnston paced the Lakers with a 151.
