Schaub repeats as wrestling champ

St. Francis senior also won last year

AUBURN HILLS — Isaiah Schaub, two-time state wrestling champion.

The St. Francis senior achieved the honor on Saturday with an 11-4 decision over White Pigeon's John Tullos in the Division 4 135-pound championship match at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

It was only the second loss of the year for Tullos.

Schaub finished his senior season with a record of 51-1. Last year, he was the 130-pound champion.

St. Francis also had a fifth-place finisher in Jack Jamieson, who beat New Lothrop's Aaron Bauman 4-2 at 145 pounds.

Also in Division 4, Forest Area's Tom Hall finished third with an 11-4 win over Manchester's Austin Hamilton.

In Division 3, Grayling's Brandon Handrich was fifth at 152 pounds with a 13-6 win over Allendale's Isaac Jensen. Benzie Central's Jared Fekete placed fourth at 135 pounds.

And in Division 2, Gaylord's Eric Mason took eighth at 189 pounds.
