TC West 4 Hart 1
Traverse City West opened the season with a 4-1 win over Hart.
The Titans had two goals from Grace Earl while Jessica Kalbfleisch had a goal and an assist. Jayne Brunetti scored while Katie Placek and Mikaela Ray had an assist.
Savannah Wojtanowski made four saves for the win. TC West hosts Cadillac on Tuesday.
West won the JV match by a mercy, 8-0.
BASEBALL
TC Central 5 Elk Rapids 0
Nick Keller and Seth Roy combined to pitch a no-hitter in TC Central's 5-0 win over Elk Rapids.
The Trojans (1-2) led the nightcap 11-1 when it was called in the fourth inning.
Keller threw six no-hit innings in the opener with 14 strikeouts and two walks. Roy then pitched the last inning with a strikeout. At the plate, Ethan Pilarski had two hits while Mitch Brien tripled.
In the nightcap, Brad Keller gave up one hits and one run with seven strikeouts. Adam Stepan had a pair of hits.
Brethren 4 7 TC Christian 1 2
Brethren swept a non-conference doubleheader from Traverse City Christian.
Cam Beemer led the Sabres with three hits and two RBIs on the night. Will Andre and Ian Newberry also had hits.
TC Christian hosts Frankfort on Monday.
Softball
TC Central 7 8 Elk Rapids 3 7
Miranda Winowiecki singled in the winning run in the sixth inning to give Traverse City Central an 8-7 win over Elk Rapids in the nightcap of a doubleheader.
Winowiecki and Tiffany Taylor led the Trojans with two hits apiece. Taylor scored three runs. Maddy Duensing picked up the win in relief.
Central won the opener 7-3 as Duensing struck out eight.
Duensing, Winowiecki and Dana Dyer all had two hits for Central. K. McManus belted a two-run homer for Elk Rapids.
Kalkaska 15 18 Forest Area 0 7
Jamie Myas had six hits and drove in five runs as Kalkaska swept Forest Area 15-0 and 18-7 in a non-conference doubleheader.
Myas added a win in the opener and a save in the nightcap.
Kelli Guy drove in a pair of runs in the first contest, while Alexis Archer had three RBIs.
Ellie Barber notched the win in the nightcap, pitching three innings. Guy added four more RBIs and two hits, while Jessie Plude had two hits and four RBIs and Jenna Harbour drove in three runs for the Blazers (2-0).
For Forest Area, Olivia Jacques had two hits in the nightcap while Emily Gonyer and Natasha Bayne singled and drove in a run. Gonyer stole four bases.
