AUBURN HILLS — Isaiah Schaub will wrestle for a second straight Division 4 state championship today.
The St. Francis senior reached the 135-pound championship bout on Friday with a 6-2 decision over New Lothrop sophomore Taylor Krupp.
Earlier in the day, Schaub beat Hudson's Luke Sparapani, 5-2. Shaub will wrestle White Pigeon's John Tullos today for the title. Both entered the tournament with 47-1 records.
Benzie Central's Jared Fekete reached the 135 pound semifinals in Division 3, but came up short in an 8-5 decision to Leslie's Zehlin Storr.
Fekete is one of five area wrestlers still alive in the consolation bracket, including Gaylord's Eric Mason (189) in Division 2, Grayling's Brandon Handrich (152) in Division 3 and Forest Area's Tom Hall (215) and St. Francis senior Jack Jamieson (145) in Division 4.
Eliminated from the tournament are Alex Picardat (189) and Zach Schaub (112) from St. Francis, Kaid Brookshire (135) from Elk Rapids, Keegan Richards (285) and Tyler Aldrich (152) from Mancelona, Scott Babb (140) and Tristan Rosted (160) from Manton, Jake Roza (130) from Benzie Central, Jeff Myers (189) and Ryan Randall (215) from Grayling, Kingsley's Luke Szymchack (160), and Liam Curtis (285) from TC West.

Leland, Northport to play for title
Leland and host Northport advanced to today's Class D district final.
The Comets moved on with a 67-44 win over Lake Leelanau St. Mary's. Liz McKee had 25 points in the win while Tantzi Snyder had 16 points.
Taylor Moore had 19 points and eight rebounds for the Eagles while Rachael Thon had 12 points and eight boards.
In the second game, Northport won by forfeit over Grand Traverse Academy. Title game is at 6 p.m. today.
McBain 51 Pine River 37
McBain stretched its winning streak to 22 games with a 51-37 win over Pine River in the Class C district final.
The Ramblers (22-1) play the winner of today's Joburg vs. Tawas district title game on Tuesday in the regional semifinal.
McBain brought the defense, holding the Bucks to just 15 points in the first half. Annemarie Hamlet and Melisa Bazuin held Pine River's two leading scorers to just nine points.
The Bucks cut the lead to four points with just under 4 minutes to play, but Hamlet hit three 3-pointers in 90 seconds to put the game away.
Hamlet finished with 25 points, Meredith Hamlet and Brittany Watson each had seven points and eight rebounds while Katimae Bosscher had seven rebounds.
Ericia Buchner had 12 points for the Bucks.
Gaylord St. Mary 75 Onaway 39
Gaylord St. Mary earned a Class D district title with a 75-39 victory over Ski Valley Conference foe Onaway.
The Snowbirds advance to the regional at Pellston on Tuesday.
In the win, Karli Jacob had 15 points, Kari Borowiak scored 15, Christina Smith had 13 points and Mary Spyhalski added nine points.
Molly Cleaver had 14 points for Onaway.
Ellsworth 39 Bellaire 36
Ellsworth won its first district title since 2006, beating Bellaire 39-36 in a defensive battle.
The Lancers (17-5) advance to Tuesday regional at Traverse City West.
Ellsworth hit 17 free throws to help seal the win.
Dana Neumann led the Lancers with 18 points and eight rebounds, while Emily Veenstra dded 10 points and 10 boards.
Katie Thornton had 13 and Chelsea Bartsch 11 for the Eagles.
