PETOSKEY —
With a 3-2 win over visiting TC Central on Thursday, Petoskey clinched the Big North Conference title.
The Northmen (12-8, 10-2 BNC) had a 2-0 lead at half thanks to goals from Morgan Jons and Gabby VandenBrink.
The Trojans (9-10-1, 6-5-1 BNC) made it 2-1 in the second half when Shelby Harris scored on an assist from Anna Krueger. But Petoskey put it away when Lisa Dinon scored from VandenBrink.
TC Central's final goal was from Paige Pfannenstiel with an assist to Jalyna Cisneros.
The Trojans won the JV game 2-1. Grace Stanton and Maura O'Kane scored for the Trojans (10-5-4, 9-6-2 BNC) while Maddie Ostergen had an assist. Lyndsey Round was the winning goalkeeper.
TC Central opens the district at home on Tuesday against TC West.

TC West 0
Gaylord closed out the season with a 2-0 Big North Conference win at TC West.
It was the first loss at home for the Titans (10-4-3, 8-3-1 BNC). Savanna Wojtanowski made six saves in defeat.
The Blue Devils also won the JV game 2-0.

Kalkaska 0
Elk Rapids finished the season with a 12-4-2 record after a 3-0 Lake Michigan Conference win at Kalkaska.
The Elks (10-2 LMC) had a goal each from Robin Trierweiler, Megan Gregorski and Haley Patterson. Gregorski and Brittany Trout each had an assist.
Maggie Marshall made two saves for the shutout. Elk Rapids plays at Harbor Springs on Tuesday in the district opener.

Boyne City 1
Grayling's 1-0 halftime lead held up in a 2-1 Lake Michigan Conference win over Boyne City.
Hannah Haven and Shelby Pippin scored for the Vikings while Pippin and Alyssa Morley each had an assist. Emily Wingard made eight saves in the win.
Glen Lake 6
Manistee 0
Glen Lake finished the regular season with a 6-0 win over Manistee.
The Lakers (13-1-2) will host Leland on Tuesday in the Division 4 district opener.
Sara Tondreau scored two goals while Ty Fessell and Casey McDonough each had a goal and an assist. Ellie Barrett and Logan Popp scored while Grace Hubbell and Sam Thompson had assists.
Sophie Ewing got the shutout with eight saves.
TENNIS
TC Central wins TC Championships
Host TC Central scored 22 points to win the second annual TC Championships. TC West was second (12), the TC Central B team was third (9) and TC Christian was fourth (4).
The Trojans had three singles champs in Paige Cooley, Kelly Milliken and Christi Druskovich. Cooley (28-5) beat Christian (6-0, 6-0), B team (6-0, 6-0) and West (6-0, 6-0), Milliken (29-4) beat West (6-0, 6-0), B team (6-1, 6-1) and Christian (6-0, 6-2), Druskovich (29-3) beat B team (6-0, 6-0), West (6-4, 6-0) and Christian (6-0, 6-0).
Leah Potter/Katie Raymond (29-3) won No. 1 doubles over B team (6-1, 6-1), Christian (def.) and West (7-5, 6-1). Devon Dotterrer/Abby Palisin (28-4) beat B team (6-3, 6-3), Christian (6-2, 6-1) and West (def.). Kitty Mast/Elizabeth Pappas (29-3) beat Christian (6-0, 6-0), B team (6-1, 6-1) and West (6-3, 6-2).
West's Jill Turnquist was the No. 4 singles champ with wins over the B team (6-0, 6-1), Christian (6-2, 6-0) and Central (6-2, 6-1).
Central's Kathryn Amalfitano/Molly Whiting, West's Lexi Jewell/Kaelyn Hughes and TC B's Katherine Lyon/Carly Smith all split the title at No. 4 doubles.
BASEBALL

Midland Dow 0 5
TC Central scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning of the nightcap to complete a sweep of Midland Dow.
The Trojans (23-9) won 10-0 and 6-5.
Nick Keller singled, doubled and hit a two-run homer in the opening game while Adam Stepan also had three hits. Brad Keller pitched the win with seven strikeouts and two hits allowed.
In the nightcap, Ethan Pilarski had two hits and drove in Mitch Brien for the game-winning run. Zack Dorer had a double and a two-run homer, Brien added two hits and Justyn Root doubled. Seth Roy threw three strikeouts in the first five innings while Nick Keller collected the win in the final two innings.
Mesick 3 4
Suttons Bay 1 7
Mesick opened with a 3-1 win over Suttons Bay, but the Norse took the nightcap 7-4 for a Northwest Conference split.
The Bulldogs (15-12, 5-7 NWC) got the win in the first game from Thane Herbert with seven strikeouts. Tyler Myers had a hit and a run while Jesse Hoffman had a two-run single.
In the nightcap, Hoffman took the loss. Herbert had two hits and two RBIs while Myers and Hoffman also added two hits.
Aaron Orban struck out seven for Suttons Bay (19-6, 8-4 NWC) in the opener while Logan Mikesell and Randy Kelty combined to pitch the win in the nightcap.
Martin Stowe and Kelty each had two hits for the Norse in the nightcap. Zach Rice had an RBI double while Alex Crocker had a hit and a run.

TC Central's freshman team finished the year with a 13-0, 7-2 sweep of TC West.
The Trojans (12-10) got the win in the first game from Charlie Kesner with four strikeouts and two hits allowed. Spencer Brown was 4-for-4 with five RBIs, Zach Borer had a single and two doubles while Eddie Cater, Jared Runkel and Anthony Krotovil all had two hits.
In the nightcap, Brown fanned seven for the win. Griffin Brien, Krotovil and Brown all had multiple hits.
SOFTBALL
Charlevoix 4 9
Central Lake 1 2
Charlevoix earned a 4-1, 9-2 non-conference sweep over Central Lake.
The Rayders scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning of the first game to win. Kristen Mielke had 11 strikeouts in the win. Katie Hybl threw the win in the nightcap for Charlevoix with 10 strikeouts.
For the Trojans (13-18), Lexis Carpenter took the loss in the first game with five strikeouts. Allie Hines dropped the nightcap with three strikeouts.
Makenna Scott singled and tripled for Central Lake in the nightcap while Megan Closs had two hits.
Manton 17 1
Forest Area 1 7
Manton swept Forest Area, 17-1 and 10-7.
The Warriors took the loss in the first game from Natasha Bayne. Emily Gonyer hit an inside-the-park homer, Kourtni Birgy tripled and Jade Busczka had a hit.
Birgy took the loss in the nightcap. Gonyer had three hits and an RBI, Courtney Middaugh tripled with two RBIs, Bayne had an RBI double, Olivia Jacques had two hits and Birgy doubled.
Posen 18 6
Bellaire 8 12
Bellaire won the nightcap 12-6 for a split with Posen.
The Eagles (19-12) got the win in from Katie Thornton. Mariah Cords had three hits and two RBIs, Thornton had two triples and two RBIs while Johanna Gillespie and Madalyn Balon each had two hits.
Posen won the nightcap 18-8 after Bellaire's starting pitcher went out with an injury. Cords had three hits, Thornton and Haley Myas had two hits and Charlotte Wilson had a double with three RBIs.
TC Central JV 3 7
TC West frosh 2 2
TC Central's JV swept the TC West freshmen, 3-2, 7-2.
The Trojans had both wins from Brenna Argue, who tallied 19 strikeouts on the night. Alie Little had two doubles and two RBIs, Mariah Bensley had two hits and an RBI while catcher Lexie Mallery had a good defensive night.
