Red Wings heading to TC

Prospects Camp begins July 7th

TRAVERSE CITY — Martin Frk, Detroit's first pick in last week's NHL draft, will be among 42 players here next week for the Red Wings Prospects Camp at Centre ICE.

The camp starts Saturday, July, 7 and ends Friday, July 13.

All six of Detroit's selections in June's draft will be here.

Frk, a winger for the Halifax Mooseheads, was selected in the second round. He's tallied 79 points (38 goals, 41 assists) in 96 games since Halifax selected him in the opening round of the 2010 CHL Import Draft. The forward represented his native Czech Republic at the 2011 IIHF World Junior Championships.

He'll be joined by the team's other draft picks: Saginaw Spirit goalie Jake Paterson, London Knights forward Andreas Athanasiou, Lincoln Stars defenseman Mike McKee, Toronto Lakeshore Patriots defenseman James De Haas and Swedish forward Rasmus Bodin.

Other top prospects who will be here: Defensemen Brendan Smith, Ryan Sproul and Xavier Ouellet; goalie Petr Mrazek; and forwards Riley Sheehan, Teemu Pulkkinen and Tomas Jurco.
