SUTTONS BAY — Freshman Delaney Kaufman scored with just over a minute remaining Tuesday to give Suttons Bay a 2-1 soccer win over Leland.
Charlotte Seeley had tallied earlier for the Norse. Christina Rennie scored on a penalty kick for Leland, which was playing its first girls soccer game in school history.
Jordan Smith was in goal for Suttons Bay.

Trojans capture Great Lakes Invite
Traverse City Central won seven of eight flights in capturing the Great Lakes Tennis Invitational.
The Trojans finished with 23 points. St. Francis was second with 14, the Central B team had 8 and Traverse City Christian 3.
All matches were in a short step format.
For Central, freshman Paige Cooley won No. 1 singles (4-0, 4-0 over Christian and B and 4-1, 4-2 over St. Francis), Kelly Milliken No. 2 (4-0, 4-0 in all three matches), and Christi Druskovich No. 3 (4-0, 4-0 over Christian, 4-1, 4-0 over St. Francis and B).
The Gladiators Bailey Ray captured No. 4 singles (4-1, 4-0 over B, forfeit over Christian, 4-2, 5-4 over Central).
The Trojans swept doubles with Leah Potter-Katie Raymond (5-4, 4-0 over Christian, 4-0, 4-0 over St. Francis, 4-0, 4-1 over B), Devon Dotterrer-Abby Palisin (4-1, 4-0 over B and St. Francis, 4-0, 4-1 over Christian), Kitty Mast-Elizabeth Pappas (4-0, 4-0 over Christian, 4-2, 4-0 over B, 5-4, 4-2 over St. Francis), and Kathryn Amalfitano-Molly Whiting (4-0, 4-2 over St. Francis, 4-0, 4-0 over B and Christian).
SOFTBALL
M. Co. Central 14-5 Frankfort 4-7
Frankfort won the nightcap 7-5 to split the season opener with Mason County Central.
Kolby Spencley pitched the win for the Panthers (1-1) with six strikeouts. She was 2-for-3 at the plate while Jessica Schaub was 2-for-2 with five stolen bases.
The Spartans won the opener 14-4. Tami Banktson too the loss.
BASEBALL
Buckley 1-1 Brethren 0-3
Buckley posted a 1-0 win over Brethren in the opener, but came up short in a 3-1 nightcap loss.
The Bears (1-1) got the win in the first game from Joel Ledford, who allowed two hits and struck out 14. Evan Chalker had an RBI single to score Dustin Tandy while Tyler Welch had two hits.
Ledford had two hits in the nightcap.
M. Co. Central 17-9 Frankfort 4-7
Mason County Central swept a young Frankfort team with 17-4, 9-7 victories.
The Panthers (0-2) started four freshmen.
In the first game, Talon Bigley took the loss. Bigley and Nolan Nye had a double.
Owen Stratton tripled in the nightcap while Bigley doubled.
