TRAVERSE CITY — Suttons Bay's Charlie Olson defeated Traverse City's John Cannon 2 and 1 Wednesday to win the Traverse City Junior Golf Association Collegiate Match Play Championship at the Kingsley Club.
The tournament began with a qualifier in June at the Wolverine Golf Course at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa.
In the semifinals, Olson beat Traverse City's Tony Casciano 3 and 2, while Cannon topped Traverse City's P.J. Dienes 1-up.
The boys and girls divisions of match play will begin Monday on Spruce Run at the Grand Traverse Resort.
