Bums announce ticket packages, promotions

TRAVERSE CITY -- Entertainment options outside of the white lines will be a bit different next year at Traverse City Beach Bums games, as will season ticket prices.

The Bums -- who purchased a three-game series from Oakland County to give them a 51-game home slate -- are offering a season ticket package to all 51 games for $384 ($6.10 per ticket), if ordered by Christmas. The package also comes with 12 extra ticket vouchers and a "meet the team" night before the season starts

The team will also introduce weekly specials:

-- Monday -- Two chair back tickets for the price of one.

-- Tuesday -- Theme nights (Star Wars, Elvis, ladies' night, men's night, etc.).

-- Wednesday -- The team will be giving away more than $1,000 in gift cards from $5-100 to fans throughout the game. If the Bums don't win, your ticket gets you a half-price ticket to another Wednesday night game.

-- Thursday -- Thirsty Thursday and throwback night. All beer and pop is $1 off normal prices and the players will wear throwback jerseys that will be auctioned off at the end of the season.

-- Friday -- Fireworks. There will also be fireworks at two Saturday games -- May 29 and July 3.

-- Saturday -- Silent auctions to team with local non-profit organizations to raise money by auctioning off Beach Bums merchandise, including camoflouge, throwback, patriotic and pink Beach Bums jerseys, plus equipment and experiences suck as taking batting practice with the team or spending a game as radio color commentator.

-- Sunday -- Family fun night, where chair back tickets for children 12 and under are $5 with the purchase of a full-price adult chair-back ticket.

The Beach Bums also released their schedule, which features the home opener on May 28 against the Oakland County Cruisers after a six-game road trip to begin the campaign.

June is loaded with 18 home dates and the Bums end the season with a six-game home stretch against Windy City and Washington from Aug. 31-Sept. 5.
