Ruonavaara leads Rocky Hill to title

TRAVERSE CITY — Former Immaculate Conception student Megan Ruonavaara pitched Rocky Hill to the Class M state softball title recently in Connecticut.

In four tournament games, Ruonavaara pitched three shutouts, allowing two unearned runs.

She was named the New Haven Register All-State Most Valuable Player.

Ruonavaara finished the season 17-1 with a 0.49 ERA. She also hit .493 and drove in 38 runs. Her four-year record was 63-9. She'll play softball in college at Stonehill.

Ruonavaara also helped Rocky Hill win a state volleyball championship.
