Prep Roundup: Trojans roll

MANISTEE — Chelsea Guoynes shot a 77 Monday to lead Traverse City Central to a 358-505 dual meet win over Manistee at the Manistee Country Club.

Courtney Dye added an 87, Ally Schultz 93 and Abby Palisin 101 for the Trojans.

Elk Rapids     6 Harbor Springs     0

Jesse Starr netted two goals as Elk Rapids opened Lake Michigan Conference play with a 6-0 win over Harbor Springs.

Spence LaPointe, Mackenzie Wolfgram, Zach Vandeveer and Chance Dittrich added solo goals. Austin McMullen was in on two assists and Vandeveer one for the Elks (4-1-1).

Elk Rapids had a 26-0 shots-on-goal advantage.

Boyne City     5 Grayling     1

Boyne City scored five unanswered goals in the second half for a 5-1 win over Grayling.

Trevor Dewitt tallied for the Vikings (0-4). Evan Korneli turned aside 21 shots.

TC Christian     3 Leland     1

Scottie Raetz and Jon Tuck scored second-half goals as Traverse City Christian downed Leland 3-1.

Dylan Jollisse gave the Comets a 1-0 lead in the first half, scoring off an assist from Clay Beyers. Peter Mustard tied it for Christian (2-2) with an unassisted goal. Tuck and Michael Weber assisted on the two goals in the second half. Jon Rudolph was in goal for the Sabres.

Suttons Bay     6 Glen Lake     0

Even Glowicki had two goals and an assist as Suttons Bay blanked Glen Lake 6-0.

Garrett Bassett contributed one goal and two assists and Mason Darling one goal and one assist for the Norsemen (2-0, 1-0). Taylor Hoensheid and Logan Mikesell also tallied. Jared Orban had the shutout in goal.

Benzie     6 Northport     4

Benzie Central jumped out to a 5-0 lead 25 minutes into the game and then held on for a 6-4 win over Northport.

Pacing the Huskies (2-1, 1-0) were Harold Romero and Sam Hahn with two goals each. Jared Ponder and Hayden Clark also scored. Simon Kimball, Romero, Clark and Hahn added assists. Northport (1-1-1) got two goals from Alex Thelander and one apiece from Angel Gonzalez and Bill Stowe.

Harbor Springs girls win Shay race

Harbor Springs put five runners in the top 15 to win the girls' race in the Ryan Shay Memorial Invitational at Central Lake.

Kendal McCarthy led the Rams, finishing fifth in 13:07.5. Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart's Katharine Janes won the race in 12:49.6. Mancelona's Isabella Tremonti was second in 12:59.3.

Sacred Heart won the boys' race as Casey Voisin took overall honors with a 10:42.4.
