MANCELONA -- Registration has begun for the Antrim Ski Academy (ASA) winter 2008-09 programs. This season's programs include ski instruction, snowboard instruction and ski race training.

Programs begin with the annual ski swap and informational meetings on Nov. 29.

Informational brochures, including registration forms, are available at www.antrimskiacademy.com, area schools, Ruthie's in Bellaire or by calling Steve Kershner at 377-7319. Registration will continue through Dec. 25. Scholarships are available to those needing financial assistance.

Downing adds win to business trip

He was at the Vasa on Saturday mostly for business purposes, he’s the director of the American Cross Country Skiers Masters National Championships and an administrator for the American Ski Marathon series, but he also took the time to lead a couple clinics and ski. The Oregon resident opted for the 24K freestyle race and won in 1:11:39.
