TRAVERSE CITY — Canada's Kim Farlinger, riding her 12-year-old gelding Cordoba, won the $30,000 Show Jumping Grand Prix on Sunday at Flintfields Horse Park.
The Grand Prix featured 17 horse-rider combinations. Pierre Jolicoeur designed the course.
Eight entries completed the first-round course without fault to advance to the jump-off round, where four cleared.
Those four riders then sped through the winding course to see who was the fastest.
Farlinger, aboard Cordoba, raced through the course without fault in a time of 36.320 seconds. Scott Lenkart and his mount Un Prince slid into second with a time of 37.895 seconds. Lenkart also took third with Impulsive in a time of 38.352 seconds. Robin Walker and Ilian-De-Taute finished fourth in 42.651 seconds.
Farlinger, who has a show jumping stable in Canada where she rides and teaches, is competing in her first Horse Shows by the Bay Grand Prix.
Earlier Sunday, Emily Short and Remora won the $2,500 Modified Child/Adult Jumper Classic. Short had the only double clear rounds.
Alex Cooper and Expresso claimed the $2,500 NAL/WIHS Adult Jumper Classic.
Meredith Darst and Hidden Creek's Kendall were victorious in the $2,500 NAL/WIHS Children's Jumper Classic.
