CARSON CITY — Benzie Central's Alyssa Bennett was third overall to lead the Huskies to a second-place finish at the Carson City-Crystal Invitational.
Bennett finished in 19:06 for Benzie, which was second to Grandville Calvin Christian in the 20-team Gold (Division 3) race.
The Huskies girls were led by Alyssa Bennett (third, 19:06), Bryce Cutler (ninth, 19:46), Makayla Huddleston (21st, 20:32), Rachael Peabody (25th, 20:41) and Sarah Jones (21:10).
Benzie's boys were ninth, as Calvin Christian won overall and Ithaca was second.
The Huskies were paced by Justin Prange (14th, 17:09), Ismael Halawey (15th, 17:12), Noah Robotham (22nd, 17:22), Kyle Bailey (24th, 17:25) and Andrew Hayden (31st, 17:35).
Bear Lake 1st, SF 2nd at Carson City
Beal Lake won the girls portion of the Carson City-Crystal Invitational, edging out Traverse City St. Francis.
The Lakers posted 84 points, eight better than the Gladiators in the 20-team Blue (Division 4) race.
Holly Bullough won the race by 20 seconds in 19:10. The Glads' other top finishers were Lauren Buckel (18th, 21:23), Maddy Danz (21st, 21:37), Krissi Dressler (23rd, 21:41) and Erin McDonnell (33rd, 22:15).
The TCSF boys were ninth, led by Mark Mol (21st, 17:48), Nick Fisher (48th, 18:42), Connor Archer (49th, 18:42), Matt Mawby (63rd, 19:18) and Andy Fitzpatrick (70th, 19:37).

TC St. Francis 2nd in tournament
Traverse City St. Francis didn't need to win a single flight to finish second in the Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian Invitational.
Lansing Catholic won the four-team event with 18 points, while St. Francis had 15, NorthPointe 14 and Big Rapids Crossroads one.
Seven of SF's eight flights posted 2-1 records, including all four singles players — Sam Holmes, Gus Danz, Jack Krcmarik and Patrick Burke. Doubles tandems Da Wilson/Tanner Hobbs, Evan Primeau/Corey Boudrie and Cole Gingras/Jay Jones were also 2-1 for the day.
The Gladiators travel Tuesday to Traverse City West for a make-up match before heading to Boyne City for Wednesday's Lake Michigan Conference championships.
