Two Trojans make All-State hockey team

TRAVERSE CITY — Traverse City Central hockey players Lucas Little and Cooper Macdonell were named to the state coaches' association Division 2 All-State team.

Also in D-2, the Bay Reps forwards Kevin Banducci was second team and Zach Hill honorable mention. Central's Nico Saco joined the pair of Reps on the HM list.

Traverse City West defenseman Trent McDougall and goalie Michael Tilford were second-team Division 1 picks, while defender Titan Willie Hanrahan and Manistee's Sam Lipps were honorable mention.

On the D-3 team, Cheboygan's Jake Elmore was a first-team pick, Chiefs goalie Nick Watson was on the second team. Petoskey's Kyle Ruggles and Cadillac's Dane Moore were also honorable mention selections.

PETOSKEY TO JOIN NMHL: Petoskey is slated to join the Northern Michigan Hockey League for the 2012-13 season, giving the league five teams once again.

The Northmen appear to be set to play simultaneously in the NMHL and the Big North Conference.

The NMHL will consist of the Reps, Cheboygan, Manistee, Petoskey and Mid-Michigan.

NMHL All-LEAGUE TEAM UNVEILED: The Bay Reps have two representatives on the NMHL All-League team.

Banducci and Quinn Lyman were both first-team selections, while Cheboygan had three — Eryn Eustice, Stan Swiderek and Watson. Manistee's Lipps and Jordan Truxton rounded out the area first-team picks.

The second-team included Reps P.J. Heger, Hill and John Posler; Cheboygan's Seth Duncan, Elmore and Jordan Yost; and Manistee's Austin Wilson and Jake Thompson.

Honorable mention picks included the Reps Nick Sicinski and Manistee's Keegan Nowcyak.
