GRAND RAPIDS (AP) — A 25-year-old woman has been found guilty in the road rage shooting death of a Grand Rapids man.
MLive.com reports that a Kent County jury gave its second-degree murder verdict Friday against Jeannette Davis. The jury found her 21-year-old brother, Jountay Davis, not guilty of being an accessory after the fact.
Lance Byers was shot to death in February during an argument that followed a minor fender bender.
Byers was arguing with Jountay Davis. The newspaper says Jeannette Davis claimed she was trying to stop them from fighting when she fired the gun.
Prosecutors say Jountay Davis drove his sister from the scene of the shooting.
Jeannette Davis is being held in the county jail pending her Aug. 14 sentencing.
