DETROIT (AP) -- The Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions formed one of pro football's top rivalries in the 1950s, when each team won three NFL championships.
How the mighty have fallen - in tandem. The Lions' and Browns' last titles came in 1957 and 1964, respectively.
As the teams prepare to put their 1-8 records on the line Sunday at Ford Field, two Detroit fans are commemorating decades of futility with a Lions version of the Terrible Towels like those brandished by Pittsburgh Steelers fans.
Gordon Miller and John Crick are selling blue-on-white towels emblazoned with "The Official We ARE Terrible Towel: A Detroit Original Since 1957." They can be ordered online or by calling 877-442-7935.
The Birmingham residents say the towels also are suitable for the Thanksgiving Day game against Green Bay.
