Road crews find old remains in suburban Detroit

ROCHESTER (AP) — State officials say road crews working in suburban Detroit have unearthed human remains that could be from hundreds of years ago.

MLive.com reports the find was made in late July in Rochester and the project was halted as the Oakland County Medical Examiner and police investigated.

Michigan Department of Transportation spokesman Rob Morosi says scientists at the archaeological department at Michigan State University are working to determine the age of the remains, when the person died and other information. It wasn't known how long it would be until results were known.
