Low fuel forces pilot to land small plane

A small plane has been forced to land in Bay County after running low on fuel.

MLive.com reports that the pilot was not injured in the landing Saturday afternoon in Frankenlust Township, near Bay City.

The landing initially had been reported as a crash.

The plane was being driven on a flatbed truck to an area airport. Some roads in the area were closed temporarily.

Wis. man to stand trial for Mich. deaths

FOND DU LAC, Wis. — A Wisconsin man accused of causing a fatal crash involving a car and 12 motorcycles has been ordered to stand trial on six charges, including second-degree reckless homicide.

Twenty-five-year-old Clinton Lovelace of Hilbert is accused of crossing the center line in Fond du Lac County and striking 10 of 12 motorcyclists who were headed back to Michigan earlier this month.

Two men from Muskegon, Mich., and Twin Lake, Mich., were killed. Seven others were injured, two of whom remain in intensive care.

A WLUK-TV report says dozens of motorcycle riders filled the court Friday during Lovelace's preliminary hearing.

Defense attorney Mary Wolfe moved to have the charges dismissed, but Judge Gary Sharpe said there was probable cause to believe a felony was committed.

A trial date hasn't been set.
