Woman who died in road rage case ID'ed

ROSEVILLE — Southeastern Michigan authorities have identified a 55-year-old woman who died after her car crashed during a road rage incident with her husband.

Police said that Diane Bergiel, of Roseville, died from cardiac arrest and not from injuries in Monday's crash, The Macomb Daily, of Mount Clemens, reported.

Bergiel and her husband had been yelling at each other from separate vehicles when he tried to cut her off in a neighborhood north of Detroit, forcing the car she was driving into a telephone pole guide wire.

Roseville police Deputy Chief James Berlin said investigators are awaiting toxicology and final autopsy results before deciding whether to seek charges against the woman's 44-year-old husband.
