BELLAIRE —
Matt Frugé, of Traverse City, returned uninjured from two tours of duty in Iraq, only to be seriously injured in September 2010 by a falling tree limb while on a job near Elk Lake. Matt is recovering, but it will be spring before he can return to work. A fundraiser was planned as a way to help the family out financially, and what started as a small community project quickly morphed into something much bigger — “Matt’s Big Big Bake Sale.”
Matt and his wife, Courtney, wrote to thank everyone for all they have done for the family.
“We have only been a part of the community for seven months, and the way everyone rallied behind us to get us through the hardest time of our lives is amazing,” the couple wrote.
The couple would like to give special thanks to Ron Jolly, everyone at Bill Marsh Auto Group, the Boyne City Eagles, Melissa Falting, the Traverse City Central High School hockey team, Trina Gravin, everyone who donated silent auction items and baked goods, and everyone who bought the baked goods.
