-- Keen Technical Solutions of Traverse City is listed by INC. Magazine among the 500 fastest growing private companies in the U.S. The company specializes in energy efficiency and conservation measures for commercial and industrial firms and is located in Building 50 at The Village at Grand Traverse Commons. The company topped the list of nine Michigan companies including in the list, ranked sixth of 23 energy firms listed and 60th overall. Keen's CEO is Steve Morse, and Tim Pulliam is the company's president.
-- Cardiothoracic Surgeons of Grand Traverse is listed among the top 27 heart bypass surgical groups in the U.S. by Consumer Reports magazine in August 2012 edition. The list was based on 363 surgical groups' results compared with national standrads for survival, complications and other criteria. The Munson Medical Center heart surgeons include Drs. -- Scott Neumann joined Cambria Suites in Traverse City as its assistant general manager and food and beverage director. He most recently worked as owner/manager of Scott's Harbor Grill in Greilickville.
-- Sakura Raftery joined Goodwill Industries of Northern Michigan as director of business enterprise. She will be responsible for the organization's Workforce Development, Paperworks Studio, food service and workers on wheels program. She's a graduate of Columbia Business School and formerly worked for the Rockefeller Foundation and JPMorgan Chase bank.
-- Cleon "Junior" VanDyke will head the staff of Preston Feather Building Centers' new Design Center in Williamsburg located in the Acme Plaza at 5774 U.S. 31 North. Van Dyke has 36 years of experience in kitchen cabinet sales and design. Preston Feather is headquarted in Petoskey and also has stores in Harbor Springs and Gaylord.
Donations/Scholarships
-- Crystal Flash Energy is conducting a "Fuel Up for Father Fred" benefit to raise money for the Father Fred Foundation on Aug. 24. The company will provide a free refill for barbeque-sized propane tanks in exchange for three or more food or personal care items dropped off at the Crystal Flash Energy office at 896 West Blue Star Highway or Rentals Unlimited at 3100 North U.S. 31 South, both in Traverse City.
-- Eric Kuhn of the Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City is among 11 company employees that will share $48,000 in college scholarships through a new scholarship program created by the resort chain. Kuhn will attend Grand Valley State University.
